This surface-mount Wrought Iron Heavy Duty Pintle Door or Gate Hinge, is handcrafted of strong and durable materials that will add some authentic, period-style to your home's appearance. Since it is constructed of wrought iron, the same material that was used by blacksmiths during Colonial times ... adding a wrought iron pintle hinge can be the perfect way to add some period-style Colonial and Country detail, to your doors or a gate.
The pintle is affixed to a plate, allowing for easy surface mounting of your hinge, while the accompanying strap is curled around the pin and fits securely in both the upper and lower plates. This makes it much easier to remove it, to make the removal and installation of your doors or gates easier.
A black protective finish is added to make sure your hinge is protected against the elements, to make it last for many years. Overall, the strap hinge, together with the pintle plate, measures 18 inches in Width, and 5-1/4 inches in Height (at the Pintle Plate). (See our 'Measurement Table' below, for a complete list of dimensions).
